What’s your most impressive personal best?

I would say it’s still to come, baby, it’s a work in progress. I’m getting ready for summer, but I’m getting ready for summer 2017 at the earliest. I’m not going to lie, I’m late in the game, but I’m focused. I work out three times a week, usually free weights, and I am seeing gains – I’m serious about it.

Which excuse for not going to the gym/working out are you most ashamed of?

There has only been one excuse, and it’s that I’ve always sacrificed work over the gym, and that’s what’s let me down. Back in the days of 50 Cent – the biggest rap artist of that era – he was the first guy to come out hench, and he inspired the hip-hop generation to get in the gym. Up until then it was baggy clothes, and in baggy clothes you can be any size and you’re going to look good. He brought it into hip-hop, and I should have seized the moment then, but I didn’t, because if I’ve got sh*t to do, I’d always sacrifice it, to my shame.

How often do you take selfies in the gym?

I Snapchat [TimWestwoodTV] all the time. Selfies are cool man, I mean if you’ve done the work, you should be proud of it. It’s an achievement. I respect people who put the work in.

What’s the longest you’ve gone without alcohol?

I was a drinker, and then I came off the liquor about 10 years ago – it messes me up too much. I occasionally drink, but it takes me a week to recover. It devastates me. I’m a lightweight in the game, anybody can drink me under the table, so I can’t mess with it at all.

Have you ever secretly impressed yourself with a feat of strength?

I’m a skinny guy, but I’ve always been able to do stuff that big guys do. There’s been moments where big guys have done something, I’ve done the same thing and felt pretty damn cool about it. I’m with a lot of big guys because I have security – they’re all monsters, their width is the same as their height, they’re square. I’m kidding myself though, I’m not strong.

Have you ever pulled a muscle in less-than-heroic circumstances?

I ripped the friggin’ cartilage in my arm. I did the initial tear on some dumbass surfing wave machine that I shouldn’t have bothered with – I nearly broke my back on that thing. It was one of those instances where you shouldn’t do sh*t on holiday that you don’t do at home – if you don’t parachute out of an aeroplane at home then you shouldn’t be doing it on holiday.

What do you think about “leg day”?

I don’t know anything about leg day man, I don’t do legs at all. I’ve got too much work to do on my top half, I haven’t got time for legs at the moment – maybe by Christmas I’ll be on legs, but right now I’m not bothered with them. It’s a conscious decision.

What would you rather we didn’t see in your fridge?

My fridge is always empty, but in my freezer I’ve got some bananas. They last longer if you freeze them, but you’ve got to peel them first. If you put them in with the skin on you’ll never be able to unzip them when they’re frozen. I didn’t realise that at first and I lost a whole bunch.

What music works best in the gym?

I listen to my Capital Xtra radio show. That will take me through the whole week, everything on it just gets me hyped. They play the worst music in my gym – if I left my headphones behind, I’d go home and get them or I wouldn’t go, or I’d ask for earplugs. Music is the most important thing for me.

Have you ever ordered healthily in a restaurant but scoffed someone else’s chips?

I always do that – I always eat other people’s food, it’s the worst thing, especially when I’m with a girl, I’ll eat her food before she eats it herself. Bad habits, super-bad habits.
